I really need to borrow a better camera, the one I have distorts the colours and does not do close-ups clearly, even with the zoom. Still, it does the job for now.
Where I go now I am not sure – I seem to recall there being a white horse involved somewhere – echoes of the Morrigan and Rhiannon perhaps.

This is beautiful, Jill!. My suggestion about the photography: take it outside on a sunny day and photograph it without the flash.

Mmm, gorgeous, beautiful colours. Oh and I agree with Lori – try to avoid using flash – if you can’t go out, place your work near a window, it’s what I do on these cold days, lol!!!

the stitching is really different – it adds so much texture and density to the piece.
If you are willing to experiment, there are a couple things you can do with even a small, cheap digital camera. The first is to turn off the flash, and see if you can light the object sufficiently with ambient light. The second is to look for a macro option – usually a flower icon – that will focus on the object when it is close to the lens. The last is to avoid the zoom and try to get the camera to focus (usually there is an autofocus in the shutter button, press it halfway or something like that) close to the object.
